Today, an average of 1 out of 8 households in the US live in food insecure households, which means they don't have enough money or resources to provide food for the entire family.
As recently as 2022, 7.3 million children lived in food insecure households.
A lot of those households get food stamps as a supplement to buy groceries, seeds and more. 92% of the food stamps go to families who's income is below the poverty line.
Feed the children helps malnutritioned children all over the world, from the US, to Middle America to Africa and the Philippines, find their way back into healthy environments. From supporting schools with food programs to building them and providing education from the ground up to creating clean water sources to promote new sanitation and hygiene possibilities.
Feed the Children strategically engages the local government and community leaders to discuss the true need of their community and develop a collaborative plan for action.
Those activities and changes are built by those two parties collaborating by meeting nutritional, health and educational needs of children while promoting long-term change to children's lives, their caregivers and communities.
